Secondary Clarifiers

This system includes 2 Circular Tanks (referred to as Clarifiers) with a combined capacity of around 1 million gallons.
These are sedimentation tanks where solids (mostly bacteria from the Aeration Process) are allowed to settle to the bottom of the tank. These solids are then pumped from the bottom of the tank back to the inlet of the Aeration System, where the bacteria are ready, again, to treat more wastewater.
The wastewater that continues flowing through the clarifier system is now treated wastewater or secondary effluent.
