Aeration Basins
This system includes 3 Basins with a combined holding capacity of around 2.3 Million gallons.
The aeration basins receive wastewater from the Equalization System. The bacteria responsible for treating the waste is located in these basins. Oxygen, which is needed by the bacteria while breaking down the waste, is introduced to this system by the use of seven centrifugal blowers.
Depending on the amount of flow being treated, anywhere from 1 to 5 blowers maybe running at one time.
